Hi Sweets! Oo. Pierogi...but Veselka panfries their blintzes - too flabby for me. I'm basically looking for fried cheesecake!

When I think of my late mom, I miss her chicken soup and matzoh balls and her European style cheesecake. Interestingly enough, her "noodle kugel," didn't contain any cheese so that it could be eaten with meat or dairy dishes. Instead, it had a grated green apple with raisins or shredded prunes, to balance the sweetness.

I love the idea of grated green apple. I do that sometimes to sweeten up my oatmeal.

Have a great time! But, you know, when I’m in France, I rarely miss anything. Well, my dog;). Safe travels.

I agree. My life is so different in France, and I eat the food that goes with it. Thank goodness for my blood sugar it only occurs to me to eat Dots and York Peppermint Patties when I'm in the States for Halloween!

Dear Elizabeth-

Last weekend, I went to the yearly English book sale held by AAGP (Anglo American Group of Provence) in Aix.

I bought your book - ‘Lunch in Paris’, and just now opened it to start reading it.

Lo and behold, the inscription says, ‘For Susan - Enjoy & Bon appetitt’.

I think this was meant to be as my name is Susan too! How funny!

How funny! I love the idea that the books circulate - and fall into just the right hands!
